Sign-ups for Murray Liberty League will be at the Park Center in Murray Park on Saturday, February 13th and Saturday, February 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be an additional sign-up time on Wednesday, March 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Park Center. Please help get the word out to others!
Tryouts will be on Friday evening, March 12th and Saturday morning, March 13th. You'll be given more detail as to specific times when you sign up. The games will probably begin on Monday, April 5th.
Volunteers Needed!
It takes a lot of volunteers to run a baseball league. With kids graduating to the Babe Ruth league, there will be a large number of openings for the 2010 season. We need people to step up in all areas, from the score booth to the snack shack. There will also be a number of coaching vacancies, through graduation or otherwise. Maybe it's the economy, but we had trouble this year finding enough head coaches for the teams. Don't feel like you need to have been a perennial All-Star to coach a team in our league. It's a fun way to give back to the community and it lasts less than three months. Please consider helping out any way you are able - without volunteers there is no league! Petition to Convert the Armory to an Athletic Field House
The old Armory in Murray Park is going to be re-purposed and we have a say in what it will become, but we need to act immediately. In our opinion, our community would be better served to have an indoor practice facility for our youth rather than a proposed reception center. Our lack of off-season facilities sometimes leads to our kids choosing schools other than Murray to pursue their athletic endeavors. If you feel the same way, please click HERE to see the petition.
